Questions
Good to know
Which apps can I save workout videos from?
TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, Reddit, X and Threads, plus screenshots and PDFs of written workouts.
Is a workout video saver different from just bookmarking?
Yes — a bookmark just points back at the video. Prept actually reads the workout and turns it into exercises, sets and reps you can follow and log, so it survives long after you forget the original video.
What happens if the original video gets deleted?
Your saved workout stays in your library — Prept extracts the exercise details once, so you're not dependent on the video staying online.
Is it free to save workouts?
Yes. The free plan includes up to 5 imports a month from TikTok and YouTube. Prept Pro removes the limit and adds Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Reddit, X and Threads.
How does Prept read a workout out of a video?
It uses the speech, the on-screen text and the caption to write out each exercise with its sets and reps (or time), the muscles it works and the equipment it needs. You see the result before saving and can fix anything it got wrong.
Does the workout video saver work on Android?
Yes. Prept has full apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, and your saved workouts sync between them.
How is Prept different from Gymdex or FitSaver?
All three read workouts out of videos. Prept imports from more platforms (including YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit and X), runs on Android, and adds a weekly planner and set-by-set logging. Gymdex has a Mac app and a workout generator; FitSaver is the cheapest. Our roundup of the best workout organizer apps compares them in detail.
